The Arrieta Haria Cemetery circular walk is between 3 and 4 hours. There is one ascent section, but it is not steep. The trail is good under foot and easy to follow, but I recommend walking poles for the descent towards the end of the walk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Directions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Follow the LZ-1 out of Arrecife and take the first exit at the Tahiche round-a-bout. Continue along the LZ-1, past Costa Teguise, Guatiza and Mala. In Arrieta, take the 1st<\/sup> exit at the round-a-bout and take the immediate left into the parking area opposite the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Walk<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Head across the carpark, cross the road and take the dirt track directly ahead. Take the first right off the dirt track and bear left at the next junction. Continue ahead, the path starts to zig zag up onto the Haria Plateaux. You pass a small house about half way up and come out onto the top next to some transmission and radar towers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the path, turn left onto Camino Punta Mujeres. Just before the LZ-10, bear right and follow the Barranco until you reach the bridge at the round-a-bout. Bear right onto the LZ-205 for about 100m and take the dirt road on the left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This track follows the Barranco Tenesia Tres Barrancos and passes the old Aljibe, built by Pedro Lasso Mendez in 1958. Up the steps and continue to follow the old water channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About 230m from the top of the steps, take the path on the left, past some rental villas and turn left onto the LZ-10. Follow the LZ-10, 50m take the right up past the Cemetery and right fork onto Calle Las Piletas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Follow this track until you reach a point where you are looking down onto the village of Tabayesco. The path to the right (west) goes up onto the top of the ridgeway. We take the path left (east) heading towards the coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After 500m the path turns sharp left. We however want the path down and ahead. Follow the path down. At the bottom turn left onto the dirt track next to an old Aljibe. Follow it past a number of small holdings and more old abandoned water systems until you reach the LZ-10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the LZ-10, look to your left, 100m there is a dirt track heading east. Follow this dirt road until it turns south east, after 150m the road continues north east. We however want the path which follows Barranco la Negra, south, back towards Arrieta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
