About

Walking Lanzarote In Circles as the name suggests is all about circular walks. I hate retracing my steps.

Walking Lanzarote signpost

Lanzarote has many interesting tracks and trails to follow. Whether these routes follow stunning coastal scenery or reach up onto the fascinating volcanic mountain ranges. They invariably provide insights into a rich and intriguing historical past.

Hiking Lanzarote

There are a number of very good A to B hiking guides for Lanzarote, but I prefer interesting circular routes of between 1 and 4 hours. If there is a chance of a coffee and a cake all the better. To this end I have compiled a number of walks, with maps, photos, and notes on fauna and flora. I am also interested in the agricultural and hydrological heritage of the island.

Walking In Circles On Lanzarote

Each walk consists of a Google map with the distance marked. I include a place to park and a rough idea of the terrain to expect. A description of the route in as much detail as possible including points of interest to look out for along the way. I also scatter a photo or two or a small video clip.

Sometimes at the end ( and sometimes in the middle ) I include a recommendation or two for a coffee or a spot of lunch.

History

There is a growing History section on the site which will expand as the pages become available. There are also a couple of external sites which have proved useful:
