Well, the house where I live has been in my family for generations. When my grandmother got married, her father built it for her. It is in the historic centre of Seville. My father
and my aunt were born there and my grandparents lived there until their death. Then my aunt kept it, because my parents went to Madrid. But I often went there to spend my holidays. At one point, my aunt wanted to move to a chalet on the outskirts since the house was very old and caused problems. I had just gotten a job in Seville. I spoke to my father and he lent me the money. Then I fixed it up little by little. Now I am the envy of my entire family.
Verónica
When I was little, I lived in the suburbs and I always had transportation problems: to school, then to university, to come back at night… Nobody wanted to come to my house…
I always thought: “When I grow up, I will live in the very centre of Barcelona.” So when I got married, we bought a house in the centre. It was very small, it was on a dark street and there were parking problems… Then we had another larger and brighter apartment, but the noise was unbearable. One day we went to visit some friends in the town of Sant Cugat del Vallés. Next to their house there was another one for sale and we both loved it. We asked the price… and we have lived here happily for ten years.
Roberto
I love my house. It is small, but it is very well located. It has two bedrooms, one for us, with a bathroom, and another for the children, another bathroom, a fairly large living room and a room where we usually spend time. Our plan is, when the children grow up, to convert this room into another bedroom, so that they can have a bit of independence. But for now they can perfectly share a room. One of the best things about it is that, although it is very central, the street is very quiet and at night you don’t hear a single noise. But sometimes it is difficult to find where to park the car, especially if we come back late.
